  • Prazitel Worming Tablets for Cats 8 Tablets in a Pack

Prazitel Flavoured Worming Tablets for Cats is for the treatment of mixed infections caused by the following gastrointestinal roundworms and tapeworms: Roundworms - Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina. Tapeworms - Dipylidium caninum, Taenia taeniaeformis, E.multilocularis

Intestinal worms are divided into two main categories, Roundworm and Tapeworm. The Roundworm group includes the following sub-groups: Ascarids (sometimes just called Roundworm), Hookworm and Whipworm.

Each Prazitel Cat Worming Tablet treats up to 4kg bodyweight

Each Prazitel film-coated Worming Tablet contains 230mg Pyrantel Embonate and 20mg Praziquantel (same as the Drontal Cat Wormer).

    Dosage & Administration:

The recommended dose is 20mg pyrantel (57.5mg/kg pyrantel embonate) and 5mg/kg praziquantel. This is equivalent to 1 tablet per 4kg bodyweight.

    Bodyweight Dosage

    1.0 – 2.0 kg ½ tablet

    2.1 – 4.0 kg 1 tablet

    4.1 – 6.0 kg 1 ½ tablets

    6.1 – 8.0 kg 2 tablets

*Guide only - please weigh animals before treatment

For single oral administration; the tablet should be given directly to your cat or if necessary can be placed in food or 'easy tab' tablet pocket.

Routine control for adult cats is to treat every 3 months this will help keep your pet healthy and also vastly reduce the number of worm eggs shed into the environment.

In ascarid infestation, especially in kittens, complete elimination cannot be expected, so a risk of infection for humans can persist. Repeat treatments should therefore, be carried out with a suitable roundworm product at 14 day intervals until 2-3 weeks after weaning.

Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for one common type of tapeworm - Dipylidium caninum. Tapeworm infestation is certain to reoccur unless control of intermediate hosts such as fleas, mice, etc, is undertaken.
